Furthermore, bwin leads the industry in the development and implementation of standards in Corporate Social Responsibility. Apart from co-founding European-wide organisations such as the EGBA (European Gaming and Betting Association) and ESSA (European Sports Security Association), the Company is also leading the industry in terms of research on gaming addiction.
In cooperation with the Division on Addictions, Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School Teaching Affiliate, bwin has been examining real online gaming behaviour - a data set encompassing over 40,000 data records - developing adequate responsible gaming standards and investing in preventive protection since 2005.
bwin already runs its products under different labels. The modular nature of the Company’s platforms is ideal in that it allows bwin to react quickly and flexibly to different legal requirements. This gives the Company an optimal position to adapt more quickly to country-specific legal requirements in Europe.
Over and above its core territories in the EU/EFTA region, bwin is looking into the possibilities of developing new markets in countries where both licensing and taxation aspects are clearly regulated. In so doing, it is paying special attention to Asia and South America. The Company has opened a subsidiary in Beijing and has already launched operations in Mexico and Argentina.
Having already invested substantially in the bwin identity, the Company is convinced of the strategic competitive advantage of a strong brand, especially in a future regulated market environment.
Therefore, bwin is striving to deepen existing co-operation with top-level European football clubs, and is open to additional partnerships.
