BACA Tennis Trophy
The BACA Tennis Trophy 2006 at the Vienna Stadthalle was big success for Ivan Ljubicic. As top favourite, the Croatian took home the victory. In the final of the ATP Internationl Series Events, he defeated Fernando Gonzalez (CHI) on 15 October 2006 scoring 6:3 6:4 7:5.
bwin sponsored the tournament with USD 565,000. bwin was present on advertising banners around the court and on 'bwin Day' while using video clips on the video wall to present itself as Europe’s biggest sports betting provider.
The 10,000 visitors to the Stadthalle also had the opportunity to place bets on the outcome of all of the matches in the foyer. Due to the high-ranking players on the field, choosing a personal favourite proved to be fairly difficult for many. Apart from Ljubicic and Gonzalez, Andy Roddick, David Nalbandian, Carlos Moya, Marcos Baghdatis and Tommy Haas also took the court in the capital city located on the banks of the Danube River.
